I have been having weekly 1 hour lessons with Robert to learn to play the piano since November 2005 in my early thirties having never had any formal musical education but having always wanted to be able to both read music, appreciate music in its many forms and format, and be able to play the piano specifically. As a mature student I have especially valued and appreciated the larger picture he brings in his teaching techniques. He has been both patient and inspirational in pitching his lessons to a complete novice! He strikes the right balance between pushing progression and nurturing confidence within the limits of an hourly lesson. In already a very short space of time I have learnt an enormous amount and I enjoy it immensely. I would highly endorse Robert as a piano teacher for a student of any level. He is obviously an extremely talented and accomplished pianist but at the same time entirely modest and focused on the appropriate level of the student. As a beginner learning to appreciate learning the piano comparatively late in life I have been very impressed.
